We only have two weeks till spring break! Today your student took home a field trip permission slip. We are going to Taste of Texas on Thursday. Every year, Taste of Texas hosts different 4th grade classrooms to teach them about Texas history. We are very excited about our trip!

Dear Families,
They Spring Semester is going by very quickly! Here are some updates and VIP dates to help keep us all organized.
Updates:
* Please make sure your student is doing their homework every night.
* Please encourage your student to read for extended times. Their STAAR test will require them to read 6-7 stories in one day. They need to be building that stamina to make it through the day. Most missed questions on the Practice Reading STAAR were toward the end when their brains were getting tired.
VIP Dates* Tomorrow is Valentine's Day. Your student may wear jeans and Valentine's shirt to school (pink, purple, red, white, hearts, etc...). If you have not brought a basket, box, or bag with your name on it please do that tomorrow.
* Tuesday, February 19th will be Pizza & Prep from 5:30-6:30. You are welcome to come hear Mr. Guzman speak about STAAR and/or ask him any questions you may have. There will be a folder for each student with their past benchmark scores on them. Miss Parker will not be here because of a prescheduled trip. If you would like to meet with her please e-mail her at laura.parker@springbranchisd.com to set up at time
* Lion Dancers at 9:35 on Friday, February 15th
* Go Texan Day Friday, February 22nd - Wear your favorite Western attire!
* Writing STAAR - Tuesday & Wednesday April 2nd & 3rd.
* Math STAAR - Tuesday, April 23rd
* Reading STARR - Tuesday, April 24th
