Dear Families,
Welcome back from Thanksgiving break! We only have 20 more school days left in 2012.
This week the spelling words are homophones. The students need to know not only how to spell them, but how to use them correctly in sentences. Their words are: their, there, they're, to, too, weather, whether, dew, do, and due.
The writing homework for this week is to continue working on making personal narratives. Monday threw Thursday they have the steps broken down for crafting a strong personal narrative. The students also have a reading comprehension passage for Thursday night.
In math, we are moving onto 3-digit by 1 and 2-digit divisors. Please continue to work with your students on their math facts. Our goal is to have every student leave for break being strong in addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication. When we come back we will be using those for operations with not only whole number, but also fractions and decimals. That is why we are focusing so much on the basics this semester.
Important Dates:
Math Test on Thursday over 3-digit by 1-digit Division
Spelling Test on Friday over the homophones listed above
Facts Test on Friday
Thursday, December 20th at 5:30 our fourth graders will be performing "A Winter Celebration"
Best Wishes,
Mr. Guzman and Miss Parker
