Week 11

Dear Families,

       We are in week 11 of school! There is a lot going on this week.

1. Our homework has changed. The students received a packet today with their math and language arts for the week. Each week we will be rotating the language arts homework from English to Spanish. This week the language is English.

The spelling words are:

2. All field trip paper and money are due on Friday. There are 3 forms to fill out along with sending in $10.00

3. There is a Math Benchmark on Tuesday and Science Benchmark on Thursday.

4. We are celebrating Red Ribbon Week! Below are the themes for each day.

Tuesday, October 30th - All Eagles will go to College! Wear your favotie college shirt and jeans. Bring you T24 poster!
Wednesday, October 31st - Scare away drugs with crazy hair, clothes, and socks. Students should not bring any toys or props with them.
Thursday, November 1st - Eagles are "Jeanious" Free dress with jeans day.
Friday, November 2nd - Decade Day - Being at School is Fun! Dress in your favorite decade!

Week 7

Dear Families,

        Today, your student is bringing home a packet about our field trip to Austin. All forms and money is due Thusday, November 1. Each student is asked to bring $10 to help cover the field trip. If after reading the packet you have more questions, please do not hesitate to e-mail Mr. Guzman or Miss Parker.

      In math we are working on multiplication word problems. Please continue to work with your student at home on their math facts and the steps to two-digit by two-digit multiplication. Every little bit helps! Check back to last week's post to find the link to online games for math facts.

    Below are our spelling words for the week.

Blue Group: The students are working with short and long vowel sounds of i and o spelled as VCC. Film, First, Wind, Find, Wild, Blind, Lost, Soft, Told, Scold, & Ghost

Green Group: The students are turning verbs into nouns using "-sion" and "-tion". Collect, Collection, Protect, Protection, Subtract, Subtraction, Discuss, Discussion, Confess, Confession, Oppress, & Oppression

Week 6

Dear Families,

     This week your students have math homework on Monday and Wednesady along with their nightly reading journal. Tonight they have a worksheet on multiplication word problems.

Below are the spelling words for each group.

Red: net, peg, jet, hen, pen, pet, beg, wet, leg, ten, & men
Blue: whtie, twice, write, fine, night, flight, sight, right, why, shy, cry, & sky
Green: drew, draw, freeze, froze, shine, shone, bleed, bled, say, say, know, & knew

    In Miss Parker's class we have been reading a biography about Harriet Tubman. I encourage you to ask your student about what they are learning. We are focussing on biographies for the next few weeks. If there is someone they are interested in check a book from you local library to keep them encouraged about biographies.

- Marathon Kids form are due. If you need another copy please let me know.
